Charly's Gare

I’ve been coming here since I was little, and it’s never let me down. The pizzas are good quality for the price, and the pasta is great too. It’s easy to get to by bus from Kirchberg or the airport, and works well for lunch as much as dinner. It’s my favorite restaurant in Senningerberg.

Fair prices, good food, and good service at lunch.

The carpaccio is the best, and the terrace is great. Everyone is friendly and always smiling, including the owner, who comes over to greet you with a big smile and a nice robe. I found the service much better than at the next door porta vecchie restaurant, so please choose this one instead!

We waited about two hours to get food, even though the restaurant was 80% empty. The aperitif took 30 minutes, and after 50 minutes, with the kids hungry, someone finally asked what we wanted. Staff were absent. When I asked for the owner or manager after more than an hour, we still waited. The portions were ridiculously small, and almost nothing was edible except the kids’ pizzas. The asparagus was undercooked and the steak I ordered rare was overcooked. When I asked again to speak to the manager, an arrogant French lady turned her back on me. We went to another restaurant afterward, where they were friendly enough to serve us a meal at 3pm. Never again. Small edit: the owner changed sometime back, it used to be nice.
