We slept wonderfully here because the hotel is so quiet. Our junior suite had a beautiful view, and the friendly, welcoming staff added to the pleasant stay. For a 3-star place, the service feels more like a solid 4. Parking is limited, with spaces set aside individually for guests, so reserve one ahead. Breakfast comes to the table as a set menu rather than a buffet. I enjoyed it, though it may not suit everyone’s taste. Smoking isn’t allowed anywhere on the property, balconies included.

Ask ahead for a room away from Grand Rue, the street beside the hotel. The cobbles and traffic carried on through the night, and I got barely any rest. The hotel itself is nice, if old in the way you’d expect in a small medieval town. There should be a notice about the street facing rooms, or a substantial price reduction for them.

The staff were very friendly and tried to help, but whenever a problem came up, the rules stopped anything from happening. We had booked a room and parking for 3 nights. My girlfriend got sick on the second day, so we asked about leaving early and whether we could get anything back, without expecting much. They said no, which was fine, but gave a reason that wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the booking page. I then asked about refunding the parking space. There are only a few, they aren’t tied to rooms, and the hotel could apparently rent ours again within 5 minutes. They still said it couldn’t be refunded because it had been paid already and the rules didn’t allow it. That’s what a refund is for. The room was badly equipped. The showerhead was half broken and had almost no pressure. Two people had just one socket in the whole room, so charging a phone meant using the bathroom sink. There was no air-conditioning, and it got extremely hot at night. With the window open, we could hear every car on the road, and they didn’t seem to stop at night. The advertised flat screen TV was a prehistoric LCD, about the size of a tablet, hanging in the far corner of the wall. There was no kettle in the room. You could borrow one from reception, but that extra step was inconvenient, especially since receptionists leave after 20:00. I grew up as the kid of a family who operated a large hotel in communist Russia in the 80' and that hotel had better equipment and better service than this. Very disappointed.

I’m back for my second stay at this fantastic family run hotel, after first visiting in 2019. Our group was nine motorcyclists, and secure parking is available if you need it. The reception team were excellent while we waited for everyone to arrive, since people joined and dropped out over the year. At the end of the day, the garden and cold beers were very welcome. They serve breakfast but not dinner, though there are plenty of nearby evening food options. The rooms are all first rate.

The hotel has a lovely feel, with very friendly staff and a good breakfast. Its location is great, with good restaurants nearby and the châteaux a 15 mins walk away. Secure parking is available, but you need to book and pay for it.
