It’s a pretty unusual place, and really cheap. We had no reservation, but they still found us a room. There are some interesting attractions nearby too, so I’d recommend it.

The public areas, like the hallway, keep some tasteful traces of the building’s history. Our room and the bathrooms, though, have been freshly renovated. As a local visiting Gulbene as a tourist for the first time, I was surprised by how much you get for the price.

The kitchen has everything you need, and it’s a cozy place to use. Our room was spacious, with comfortable beds, and everything felt clean, warm, and welcoming, including the bathroom and shower. The hostel has a lot of atmosphere and history too.

A quiet spot, friendly people, and all the basics a traveler needs. We felt really comfortable here and would recommend it.

The room comes with a TV showing Latvian channels, and the furniture is new. The place has been renovated recently and was excellent. Some guests might find it awkward that the kitchen is downstairs on the ground floor.
