Central Hostel

I wouldn’t stay here again. I had a serious security problem: I put my belongings in a safe, but they were taken, and I felt the security arrangements weren’t adequate. On several occasions, I also saw intoxicated people at the entrance, which made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. The bathrooms and showers didn’t seem to get cleaned regularly. I found a used razor with hair in the shower, and it stayed there for days. In the kitchen, dishes and glasses were often just rinsed with water before being put away, which felt unhygienic. As a tourist, I also found the atmosphere different from a typical hostel, since many guests seemed to be long-term residents, including families. That was my experience, and the place didn’t feel well suited to short-term tourists.

The reception staff were lovely and showed me around the different rooms before arranging a double bed for me. The place felt warm and cozy, and was very affordable. There’s free fruit, coffee, and syrups, and the small common area feels welcoming, though there’s no work desk. Wi-Fi was weak in some spots, so I had to switch routers now and then. It’s a bit far from the Old Town.

We got a room for the hostel price on booking.com by booking through their website, which was great, and the room itself was nice. The common area and canteen are small for the number of rooms, so keep that in mind, but I saw them being cleaned often. There’s also a comfortable living room with a sofa, free coffee and milk sachets, and a nice lofi vibe. The receptionist was cheerful, let us leave our luggage for free, and allowed us to stay after checkout since our bus was in the late evening. Keep it up!

We were right by the train station, but the traffic didn’t bother us, and the location was perfect. The hostel was fairly clean and reception was very helpful. There were mostly men staying there.
