Surrounded by a park and the valley of the Venta River, the Boutique Hotel Virkas muiža occupies a historic German mansion in a very quiet location, a 20-minute walk from the famous waterfall and the centre of Kuldiga. Every hotel room has a different interior and there are no 2 identical rooms in the hotel. Some rooms have 4-metre-high ceilings and big windows. The oldest part of the hotel has smaller, compact rooms with small windows. Next to the Boutique Hotel Virkas muiža, there is a parking lot and places to have a picnic, and a conference room. Breakfast is served to guests at the Manor House.

The house and room were as stylish and nice as the listing showed, and very comfortable. The house is well worth staying in. Just keep in mind it’s on the outskirts, about a 20 to 30 minute walk to the village center. There are industrial buildings nearby and a huge, old residential complex. The staff were friendly-ish.

The Superior Suit was enormous, with a lovely terrace for morning tea. A beautiful design hotel and just right for a romantic weekend.

I’ve stayed several nights in the new building on two different trips, and the value is better than I expected for the price. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, with everything you need. I especially appreciate having a kettle. Everyone I dealt with, from the desk and kitchen staff to maintenance, was helpful and keen to make the stay easy. Breakfast has lots of hot and cold choices, and you can take food with you if you want to eat elsewhere or later. Kuldiga may be an unassuming town, but it has its own charm, and this is a great place to stay.

The hotel’s decor and paintings are amazing, and the staff were so friendly. We had a lovely, comfortable room. The bed could’ve been softer, though that’s just my preference. We brought our dog, and they provided a bowl and a treat.

I always enjoy the breakfast here, and the welcoming staff make the stay even nicer. This boutique hotel is beautiful and full of art, with cozy, comfortable rooms that have the amenities you need. It’s a little way from the center, but Kuldiga is a small town, so it still feels nearby. This is my favorite place to stay when I visit.
