Jurmala Golf Club & Hotel

The setting is beautiful, and the fields are great. But the restaurant service was poor: the waitresses didn’t look after the table well, and the food could have tasted better. The plates served to the chef were dirty too. 👎🏻

The hotel staff were friendly and proactive, and for the price the stay felt worthwhile. Our room was modern, really clean, and had good air conditioning, though it was small. The views were amazing, with some noise from the nearby freeway, but it was still tolerable. Breakfast was enough, if fairly basic. The golf course was pleasant and in good condition, easy to walk, though perhaps not very varied.

I was in Riga and squeezed in a quick nine holes. Beautiful course.

The surroundings were lovely, and housekeeping did a decent job, but the service felt indifferent and nowhere near five-star standards. I booked for three, including my sister and my 8-year-old daughter, yet we were given a room with one small double bed. Even though the reservation clearly listed three guests, we were told to share it, pay extra for another room, or cancel and leave. It was extremely frustrating and unprofessional, and I wouldn’t recommend this for travelling with children. There were plenty of other problems: dirty public toilets, expired drinks in both rooms, a used bottle under the bed, a faulty toilet flush, a dirty wine bottle, kettles with scale, and only two sets of towels for three people. After I complained, hotel management never replied. That showed a complete lack of care for guests.
