We paid 45€, which was far too much for this place, especially with its location so far from the city centre, out in the middle of nowhere. The lobby and guest rooms all reeked of cigarette smoke. The shared bathrooms were old, very dirty and mouldy, with hair everywhere. There was no curtain or glass screen to stop your clothes getting soaked, so bring flip-flops. In our room, there was no bin, bedside lamp or mirror. It smelled awful, and the window had been left open before we arrived, so there were lots of mosquitoes. We booked a double room but got a twin instead (see attached picture). The owners, Konstantin, Pavel, and Anonymous guest reviews, pushed up the property's rating, which isn't accurate. They speak only Russian, not Latvian or English, and I don't understand Russian. Breakfast was two sandwiches with cheap sausage and cheese, plus cold pancakes (see attached pictures). We can't eat gluten, so we couldn't have breakfast. There were no fresh seasonal vegetables or fruit, no juice or water either. The only option was to boil the kettle for tea or cheap coffee, and the sugar jar was empty.

There were fleas and spiders in the room, and the beds were so bad I couldn't sleep. There was no hot water, or perhaps there wasn't enough for everyone. There are only two toilets for all the guests, and breakfast was just two scrambled eggs. I've never stayed somewhere worse. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. It looks to me as if the owners wrote the positive reviews themselves. Disgusting place.

The hostess was very welcoming, and the place is quiet, close to the forest. There's parking, plus somewhere to wash and make coffee. I booked a single room, and the bed linen was clean. Breakfast was ready early in the morning at the time we'd agreed. It's a great place to spend the night for a small price!!!! If you can't eat gluten, choose somewhere that suits your needs instead of writing nasty reviews. Thank you very much.
