The rooms were pleasant and better than we expected. The staff, though, didn't feel very welcoming or guest-focused. We were first given an accessible room, which is arranged differently, and when we asked to move to a standard one, they asked us twice why and visibly scowled. Asking for more heat in the room also seemed to bother them. A little more attention to guests, and a few smiles, would have made the stay nicer.

The room was modern and very big, and the breakfast was great. The problem was reception: the staff were cold and indifferent. When we arrived to check in, they acted as if they didn't care that we were there. They weren't helpful or caring toward foreigners.

The slippery, creaky floor in the breakfast room could use attention. We mentioned it to the staff, but they ignored it. Our guests who came just for breakfast and paid extra also got no directions about what was available or where to go, which felt unwelcoming. Still, it was a wonderful stay, and I'd highly recommend this authentic, beautifully designed Riga hotel. The concept, rooms, and overall design were impressive, and breakfast was delicious and a highlight.

Our sleep on Dec 19th/20th was the problem: heavy bass from the party room carried through the upper floors and kept waking us until 2 AM. Management wasn't available over the weekend, but when we raised it on Monday they responded quickly and were helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated, and the location is convenient.

The breakfast was delicious, and the hotel was quiet at night, so we slept well. We had a spacious room with a comfortable bed and a large bathroom. It's a great new hotel close to the old town. Parking is available for an extra charge, and it's handy.
