Bellevue Park Hotel Riga

The rooms are heated really well. It was around -20 outside, but you wouldn't know it indoors. I was upgraded for free to a superior room overlooking the park, and it's lovely. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast is good, and the manager was especially welcoming. The bar staff were great too. Transport is easy to reach, and I'd definitely stay again. Hopefully we'll get the chance to visit again.

The breakfast was a highlight, with a good range and quality, and excellent pastries. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the WiFi worked very well. The room was clean and had air conditioning and heating, but there were signs of wear, a dead lightbulb and a cracked window patched with scotch tape. I didn't try the spa since that costs extra. For the price, it was good. It's a 4 star hotel, and on paper that might be right, but the details matter.

The breakfast was very nice, with a decent choice of dishes, pastries and fruit, plus a good espresso machine. The hotel is a bit away from Old Riga, but that suited my weekend event. My room was nice, though cleaning was missed for a couple of days during my five-day stay. Maybe it was because I put up the “do not disturb” sign during cleaning rounds, but I'm not sure. The sauna was a much-needed break from our activities, but its floor was so slippery that I fell and hurt my hand. I told the registration desk staff, but nothing was done. The event has been held here for eight years, and its organizers have complained about the slippery floor throughout that time, but it still hasn't been addressed.

The city center is an easy walk away, or you can take the tram and get there in about five minutes. Tickets cost €1.50 and are available at reception. We had a great stay at Bellevue Park Hotel. Our room was spacious and spotless, with a lovely view over the park. Everyone was friendly and ready to help whenever we needed something. Highly recommended!
