Getting to town and the activities we had planned was easy because of the location, and the unit itself was comfortable. It was noisier than we’d have liked, though. Basic supplies were missing: laundry detergent, shower body wash, dishwashing liquid, and there was just one dish towel. Written instructions in English, Latvian, and Russian for the appliances would help. We had to email to ask how to use the TV and never got instructions for the air conditioner. Parking was offered for free, but spaces were limited, and we couldn’t tell whether we’d find one since people who weren’t tenants seemed to use them too.

We booked an apartment in Riga for the Rammstein concert on 5-8 August 2019, back in December 2018. Half the booking cost was charged to our card in February. Then, the day before we were due to arrive, they cancelled, claiming they couldn’t access that card, even though it was the same one they’d charged and it had enough funds. We supplied another card and tried email, the booking site, and even suggested PayPal, but nothing worked. Their phone number wasn’t available either. The booking site told us it wasn’t our fault and said the company had accepted too many reservations and needed to cancel some. I’m sure we were among the earliest to book, more than seven months ahead, and they’d already taken the deposit six months before the trip. This was unacceptable and made them look like scammers. We had to scramble for somewhere else the day before the concert, which was incredibly difficult, and ended up paying 570 euros for three nights, the cheapest place we could find. They didn’t apologize or refund the advance payment. Our plans were nearly ruined. Don’t make the same mistake and book here. We won’t let this go. Shame on them. I hope karma catches up with them, and we’ll push for the authorities to investigate.
