We had a great weekend and paid a little extra for the junior suite. It had nice furniture and a bathroom, plus a cool little balcony. The minibar was reasonably priced, breakfast was great, and the bar had buy-one-get-one-free cocktails. It was my wife's birthday, so I called ahead and asked for a bottle of sparkling wine in the room. They were happy to arrange it. The staff were incredibly helpful, and even let me check out a few hours late after I'd overdone it on strong drinks.

The rooms are small, but the prices are reasonable and the location makes this hotel a good choice. Staff were friendly and spoke English and Russian. The old, creaky parquet in the corridor and room made the stay feel a little cozier.

A welcoming, lovely place, with breakfast included and warm smiles at reception. The decor is old-fashioned and charming, and the prices are very attractive.

The biggest issue is the nightclub in the basement of the neighboring building. On Friday and Saturday nights, the bass carries through the hotel. The management regularly calls the police, who issue a fine, but as far as I can tell that's all they can do about it. Otherwise, the location is excellent, right in central Old Riga and just steps from the Daugava. The staff are polite, smile often and have been helpful every time I've contacted them, even with questions outside their expertise, like where to buy candy. The rooms aren't new, but they're comfortable and clean. The restaurant is good, and breakfast was filling and delicious. There was a barbecue evening in the courtyard on our arrival day. The underground parking is a three-minute walk away, not in the hotel itself, and Wi-Fi is free throughout.

Breakfasts were delicious, but the card access system didn't always work properly. We had to ask several times to get an iron and ironing board. Courtyard parties made the rooms really noisy.
