The room for two was spacious and had everything we needed, including a hair dryer, which was a big help after we got soaked in the rain. Breakfast was included, with a simple but lovely spread of bread, eggs, cheese, ham, milk, coffee and more, all self-serve. The bathroom drain sometimes smelled a bit, though it mostly stayed in the bathroom and we could live with that. The guesthouse is several streets from the city center, so getting there meant a bus ride or a decent walk. Even with those downsides, we loved our stay and wished we could have spent longer in Riga. We arrived late in the rain and found the counter closed. We hadn’t noticed the email instructions about picking up our keys from a lobby safe, so at first we were lost and even knocked at another building. Luckily someone helped us find the keys and we got settled quickly. There was also a resident black cat that wandered into our room when we left the door open to greet us. Such a cute surprise.

The management even printed our Water Park tickets for Jurmala and mailed back an item we’d left behind, which was really helpful. My family of seven stayed in the large apartment over New Year’s 2018/2019. It was clean, organized, and very comfortable for the kids. A reliable and honest place.

I liked that only people with keys could get into the building and hall, and the front office staff were pleasant. We stayed for ten days. The place is small but cozy, which suited us since we mainly came back to sleep. Sheets and towels were changed, and there was a hair dryer, fridge, and coffee table for making morning coffee.

The main drawback was the thin walls, and the fridge and kettle were only for everyone to share. Still, the room was clean and tidy, with a comfortable bed, a good shower, and pleasant staff. A great choice for a short stay in Riga.

It’s in a quiet part of Riga, so most nights you can get a good sleep, and the center is just a five-minute walk away. This is a nice, cheap hostel with apartment options ranging from very small to family-sized. Wi-Fi is free, and reception can be reached any time by phone, even when no one is there in person.
