Old Riga Romantic Loft

We were six, so some of us had to sleep on the couch. It was old, worn out and completely uncomfortable, and the apartment was terribly cold. Air came through the windows, so we slept in thermal underwear and sweaters. We'd arranged to leave our bags around 2 p.m. The cleaner said he'd finished and told us we could come in, but there was dirt and chips scattered over the floor and couch. When we pointed it out, he said it was fine and used his shoe to sweep some chips under the mat. We contacted the host, who sent the cleaner back, but it didn't improve much. The bathroom was moldy everywhere and so disgusting we couldn't shower. We also wanted to put things in the living room cupboard, but it was full of the owner's belongings. The whole stay was a disaster, especially for the price.

A cozy enough spot for a weekend, in a great location near the center and public transport. Just be aware that the flat gets quite cold in winter, and there's no shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom.

The rooms were cold, and the bedroom radiator didn't work. The bathtub wasn't usable either, and there was no hot water. The shower looked moldy. The place looks good in photos and the location is very good, but the apartment itself is badly run down. Almost half the lights didn't work, and the panels covering the electrical system had been pulled off. The previous guests' bed linen hadn't been taken away and was hanging in the bathroom.

The location is convenient, right in the center and close to both Old Riga and the nightlife. But the apartment is smoky, there's nowhere to park, and the furniture and furnishings are worn. If you're hoping to find Riga's charm here, you won't.
