Apartment Sigulda

Really awful experience. The staff were impolite and didn't provide what we had agreed on in the booking. When we argued, they spoke loudly about us at reception that evening as if we were bad guests. The food was bad and the place was dirty. It was midnight and the woman at reception was still talking loudly there. I've never seen such bad workers. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The room had a strange smell, a bit like a dead mouse or something, which I didn't enjoy. It may need better ventilation because it's an old building. We stayed one night as a family. The room was clean and spacious, and the extra bed was quite all right. Breakfast was decent, though there's no fridge in the room. I generally enjoyed the stay, but it would be nice if the spa were included in the price.

The restaurant food was tasty and nicely presented, though breakfast could use some work: the fried eggs were nearly solid, and the milk and juices weren't chilled. The room was comfortable and clean. It's a nice hotel in the middle of town, handy for the train station, and parking is free.

The location is easily the best part. The public areas are spacious, clean and beautiful, even though the hotel isn't new, but the rooms could do with renovation. Service was amazing at both reception and the SPA. The SPA has one pool, a jacuzzi and two saunas, and costs 15eur per adult. Breakfast was fresh, though minimal.
