Lighthouse Hostel & Rooms

It got really, really warm in the room at night, and I woke up because of it. That was the main downside. Getting in was easy, with detailed self check-in instructions sent through the booking chat. The hostel is close to the train and bus stations, though a bit farther from the old town. They had free fruit, tea, and even syrup. My bed was clean and comfortable, the sheets were already on it, which was a nice surprise, and there was a free towel. There are only 2 showers and 2 toilets for everyone, but I never had to wait, and everything was clean. Sometimes there was no soap or dish soap.

The rooms are incredibly noisy, there are some really strange people around, and the bathrooms often smell awful. I found the entrance, staircase, and some of the people hanging around there quite scary. I didn’t feel safe, and definitely wouldn’t stay here again.

The bathrooms could have been cleaner. They were still alright, but didn't feel very pleasant. Otherwise, this was a great place for the price. The owners were nice and left coffee and some fruit for guests. Our room was large, clean, and had good beds. It was well located near the train and bus stations and close to the old town. We also liked all the Latvian details in the decorations.

I stayed in a private room at the Lighthouse hostel and had a good visit. The WiFi was very poor, though. It uses the same signal as the Cinnamon Sally hostel one floor below. The shower towels were no bigger than hand towels.
