For 29€ I got a clean, cozy room and a breakfast made to order, so it was well worth the price. They asked what time I’d be eating. When I came back to the Cafe later, the bartender even offered me more coffee or something else at no extra cost. I was amazed. Definitely recommend it. It’s right in the city center too.

The stairs could be a problem if you have mobility issues, but otherwise I’d happily recommend this charming, quaint boutique-style hotel. It’s central and easy to find, just right for a Ventspils getaway.

We sat there for 15 minutes and nobody brought us a menu, so we got one ourselves. Still, nobody came to take our order. After 30 minutes I went to the "bar" and asked whether we should order there or wait on the terrace. The man told us to wait outside until someone came to take it. After 45 minutes, we left without dinner and nobody had come over. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have kids and lots of time to waste.

I can’t comment on the restaurant since I didn’t try it, but I wouldn’t stay in the upstairs rooms. We planned to spend one night there, above the restaurant, but had to leave because smells from downstairs got into the room. The TV was tiny, the remotes were dirty, the bed needed a new mattress, and there was no Wi-Fi. They wouldn’t refund us, even though we’d only been in the room for 5 minutes.

I’ve never found a better place in Ventspils to relax and stay. The staff are great and the kitchen is perfect. And the dessert, wow: brownie cake with vanilla ice cream and salted karamel souce. Something magical.
