Timoulay Hotel & Spa Agadir

We’ve loved staying here for our anniversary and will be sad to go home tomorrow. Every staff member seemed keen to help and make us feel welcome, from Khalid the doorman and reception to the restaurant team. Everyone greeted us with big smiles. Our room, 215, is massive and beautiful, with everything we wanted: a hairdryer, kettle, and safe. The large balcony has two sunbeds and a table with chairs. It overlooks the pool. I think all the rooms do, but rooms 214+ are in a wing that gets the evening sun and are by far the best. The food is excellent, with lots of choice at the buffet. Last night’s Tagine was delicious. There’s also a small poolside bar serving food made to order. I usually prefer proper chips, but these real-potato fries were properly deep-fried and the best I’ve had in years. The pool is cold, but after the first shock it’s absolutely fine. You get pool towels at reception, and they even let us take some on a day trip to the Atlas mountains. We tried the onsite spa for a full hamman, full body mud mask, and full body massage. It was amazing. As a couple we paid 900MAD, around £76, which was a bargain. The hotel is constantly being cleaned, the glass is spotless, the rooms are immaculate, and there’s a fresh fragrance throughout.

The staff were lovely and friendly everywhere, from reception and the restaurant to the cleaners, who always gave us a very good morning. Our stay at the Timoulay was mostly quiet, though Friday and Saturday can be noisy because of the hotel next door. We had an air-con problem in room 10, and they kindly moved us to another room. I’d definitely stay there again.

The food was lovely, and every member of staff greeted us with a smile and was happy to help. The grounds were continually maintained, and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. We left yesterday and already wish we were back. It’s a hidden gem.

We stayed at the Timoulay for a week and found the rooms spacious and comfortable. The beach was closer than we’d expected, and while it’s a good walk into the town centre, we didn’t mind the exercise. Taxis are easy to find and inexpensive. The staff were exceptional and genuinely delightful. Everywhere was clean, breakfast was good, and the lunches and dinners we had were good too. We also used the small spa twice, where the staff were lovely and the prices affordable. It was our first stay at the Timoulay, and I’d recommend it 100% if you want a smaller hotel instead of one of the international all-inclusives.
