Mogador Al Madina

The garden and pool were our favorite parts. The room was nice and a decent size, the food was delicious, the location was good and close to the beach, and the service was good too. We ran into a few issues. I’m European and my husband is Moroccan, and nobody told us we needed to bring our marriage certificate. Without it we couldn’t check into our room, which was really stressful. My husband was also asked to wear a long sleeved shirt to dinner because he had on a sleeveless T-shirt. And the staff tried to persuade us to take trips to various places, presumably to make some extra money.

Our flight was cancelled, so the airline brought us to this attractive hotel with a local style. We had lunch and breakfast, and both meals were great. The staff seemed welcoming and friendly. There are two outdoor pools, plus a pool table and a ping pong table, so there was plenty of fun.

The hotel has a lovely pool, and most of the staff were kind enough to let us change rooms. Our first few nights were great, but a large group later kept talking below our window all night, and a loud buzzing from the dining hall air conditioning added to the noise. One receptionist was awful at his job. He said all the rooms were noisy and the group would leave the next day, as though we should just spend another night unable to sleep. I wouldn’t return.

The room was tired and needed work. The fridge was broken, there was no kettle, and the shower was in very poor shape and broken. If those things had worked, I’d have given it four stars. The pool area looks lovely, and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast had lots of good choices, and both the spa and the on site hairdresser were really good.
