Sahara Hotel Agadir

The lobby was huge, and the place felt peaceful. I didn’t encounter the chaos mentioned in some reviews. I’d been worried after reading so many negative comments, but our room was clean and nice, and the views of the castle and city were stunning. Reception was helpful, though we had to call the very responsive room service for toiletries, bath items, towels, a cup, and drinking water, which arrived within minutes. We liked the location, about a 15-minute walk from the high streets, bars, Zouk, a money changer, and lots of restaurants. You don’t really need the MacDonald just opposite.

The location and staff were good, and the new club downstairs was enjoyable. The DJ was brilliant and took music requests. The room had several problems: the fridge didn’t work, the shower head was broken, and there was no soap or toilet paper. Reception eventually sorted everything except the fridge, which still wasn’t working. Thank you to the DJ.

This felt like a two-star hotel at best, nowhere near five. The service was poor, reception staff were unhelpful, and they didn’t clean the room. Then they charged £30 for each used towel. The facilities were poor too: the shower didn’t work and its head was broken, and the guest toiletries seemed to have been used by the previous guest. A total rip-off. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, avoid it.

I had a pleasant stay, and the staff treated me well. Mr Jawad at the desk was excellent, arranging a porter to help me and being extremely helpful himself. My room was clean, modern, a good size, had lots of extras, and a good view. When a small issue came up, floor manager Sokaina arrived quickly and had someone fix it within minutes. I don’t understand the bad reviews. To me, it’s a five-star hotel with good staff like Mr Jawad.
