The staff were outstanding and made the stay really enjoyable, and the food was far better than I’d expect at a campsite. There’s plenty of room around the camp, with at most two tents connected through separate bathroom blocks. Our tent was spacious, and the mattress may have been the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The facilities were clean and well cared for, especially the pool. There’s also a games room, pool table, foosball and other activities. The tent has air conditioning, but in 40+ degree desert heat you still need to keep it ventilated by opening the door and window flaps.

The biggest issue was the noise: loud music from nearby carried through the tent’s thin walls from 23:00 to 5:00, even though this is a rural area. The shower head also felt dated. I’d have liked staff to ask about food allergies and tolerances, and to provide a clear written menu in several languages showing what costs extra, such as food, drinks and other services. We were charged for extra food we hadn’t ordered. We visited in February. Check-in was easy and the staff were welcoming, using Google Translate to communicate in English. The pool was being cleaned, so we couldn’t swim. The mountain view was amazing, and the towels and bed linen were clean and comfortable. There was a warm shower, a space heater and a key to lock the door overnight.

The lounge was a really nice place to relax, and the staff were good. English-speaking visitors will need a translator app. The rooms are quite big, though the bathroom is understandably small for a camp room. It was a good desert stay, but the pool isn’t heated.

We loved the walking tour with a local. The tents are huge, the pool is lovely, and the food was fantastic. A wonderful experience!
