The White Camel Lodge & Tents

I booked a full experience for two, with return transport from Marrakech, pool access, a camel ride, and dinner. Severe weather that week made it impossible for us to go. I called well ahead of time, explained what had happened, and politely asked whether even a partial refund might be possible. The person I spoke to repeatedly said they would check with management and get back to me, but they never did. I followed up several times by phone and email and got no response. My most recent emails have been ignored too. I was proactive and polite, so being left without a clear answer or a fair solution was incredibly disappointing. It showed a real lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. Be very careful if you're asked to pay in advance. If something goes wrong or the weather doesn't cooperate, I wouldn't count on getting support or a response. There are plenty of other camps in Agafay that seem to value their guests more.

I only wish we'd stayed longer than our one night at the White Camel, which was part of our Morocco trip with Voyage Privee, a French travel package provider. The beds were especially comfortable, and the rooms had large showers, spacious toilets, and balconies overlooking the desert. The place is beautiful and scenic, the food is excellent, and the staff were lovely. It was so peaceful to watch the stars at night and the sunrise in the morning, then enjoy a drink at sunset with live music. I can't wait to go back, and would recommend a visit to everyone.

The Moroccan food was delicious, and the live Gnawa music under the stars made the evening feel magical. Being there with friends made it even more special. White Camel Lodge Agafay felt like a hidden oasis in the vast Agafay landscape. Lanterns, elegant tents, and the gentle pace of the evening created a striking atmosphere. It's a rare, beautiful escape just outside Marrakech, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic desert experience.

The staff were kind and smiley, but the service and execution need a lot of work to meet what I'd expect from a four-star hotel. For the hefty price, I was very disappointed by the White Camel. The camp is beautiful, but it felt huge and empty, almost like no man's land. The food was expensive, limited, and nothing special; breakfast was mediocre and messy. A lot of things seemed poorly planned. I booked a spa treatment, but nothing seemed ready, and they ended up giving me a foot treatment in the entrance waiting room, which wasn't what the spa menu described.
