Riad Ait Ben Haddou

The dusty road outside doesn't prepare you for the pleasant surprise when you step into this riad. It's a nice, well-kept building, with pleasant staff, nice service, and a good breakfast. The downside is the dusty square out front and the dogs there. Don't go out at night.

The staff were supportive and very helpful, making sure we had what we needed. Our stay at the riad was very good, with comfortable, clean, well-maintained accommodation. Overall, things went smoothly and it was a pleasant experience.

The front desk employee was great, truly exceptional, and clearly trying his best. But the cockroaches in the accommodation were beyond acceptable. I know how that sounds, but given the location and expected standards, maybe one that was removed would have been tolerable. This was more like an infestation. They kindly offered us another room, but as soon as I went in, there was a dead cockroach right in front of me and two very large ones beside me. I didn't inspect the rest of the room. We left before midnight to find somewhere else, which wasn't fun. I can't recommend staying here unless serious sanitation measures are taken first. I'm sorry they denied our refund request. At least Booking.com was very kind and returned more than half the amount as credit.

The hosts were really kind and spoke good English. Our room was clean and had a great shower. We also had a nice dinner at the hotel.
