The food was delicious at both dinner and breakfast. We also joined a cooking class one evening at a local family's home, a special way to see a bit of traditional life. We cooked over an open fire and shared the meal with our hosts. Our host suggested a hike for the next day, and it was beautiful. The accommodation in Imlili sits a little above town, so it was quiet and peaceful, with breathtaking mountain and river views. From the balcony, and even from bed, we could hear the river flowing all night. We highly recommend staying here.

The Toubkal room has plenty of space, an extra bed and a terrace with a perfect view of all the peaks. Even from inside at dinner you can still see the mountains, and there's an exterior patio too. We did a fun cooking class, just a heads up that I was charged for the food I prepared.

Abdoul looked after us throughout our three nights at Oasis D’imlil, before and after we summited Mt. Toubkal. He was helpful with everything and made us feel completely at home. Our room was spacious, with a private bathroom, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. The terrace has a stunning view over the High Atlas, and it was great meeting other couples who love the outdoors over dinner. A perfect base for Toubkal, highly recommended for trekking in the area.

At Auberge Imlil Ouasis, my friend and I felt welcomed, and the hospitality made the trip special. The scenery is breathtaking, and it was just right for relaxing. We enjoyed every moment and are already thinking about coming back to Imlil and staying at Imlil Oasis again soon, Inchallah!

The family's warmth and connection to their community and culture came through in every interaction. Their hospitality reflects their Amazigh identity and pride. I left rested and grateful, already looking forward to returning. I highly recommend Imlil Oasis for heartfelt service and meaningful connections while travelling. I was there during Ramadan and was invited to join Lahcen and his wife for Iftar. Sharing those meals was a highlight, and their generosity was unforgettable. Chef Omar made some of the most delicious and plentiful traditional Moroccan food I had in the country. Breakfast each morning and dinner each evening were generous and full of flavor. The warmly lit dining room felt cozy and relaxed. As a woman travelling alone, I felt safe and welcome from the start. My first WhatsApp exchange with Lahcen gave me a sense of the warmth to come, and I was greeted with traditional mint tea on the terrace overlooking the mountains. The whole team went out of their way to make me comfortable. Abdul checked on me regularly, took me on a beautiful hike to the waterfalls, arranged through the lodge for an additional fee, and kindly helped carry my luggage along the path. Fatima made each interaction feel personal too. I spent four nights at Imlil Oasis, from February 17-21, in the beautiful mountain village of Imlil, Morocco. My room was peaceful and comfortable, with a queen-size bed, en-suite bathroom, warm blankets, reading lights, bedside tables, filtered water, and both AC and heat, which I appreciated in February. The terrace was a lovely spot for afternoon reading in the quiet mountain air. A few tips for future guests: the lodge is about a 10-15 minute uphill walk from the taxi drop-off, so pack accordingly. The team can help with luggage, and if you drive your own car, you can reach the door. Shoes come off at the entrance to protect the floors and carpets, and comfortable slip-ons are provided. Rooms, meals and arranged cultural or outdoor activities are cash only, so plan ahead. And if someone cheerfully says, “See you later, alligator,” the proper reply is “After a while, crocodile.”
