Villa Blanca Urban Hotel

The cafe downstairs was absolutely delicious, and there’s a lot to do within walking distance. The hotel’s main areas are beautiful. Staff were helpful with our bags, and parking is on the main street in front of the hotel. Our first room was covered in mold. We called the Front Desk straight away, and the man who came up said it was normal because of the rain. We asked for another room and got one that was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The shower drain was the only problem there, since we had to turn the water off and wait for it to drain. The nightclub is extremely loud, but we went and had a great time. Definitely not the place for a relaxing night’s sleep.

The rooms are old and very ordinary, and there’s no room service. The club makes it noisy at night, and the street does during the day. The staff talk among themselves too much, waiters and house maids included, so you can’t rest in your room or enjoy a drink. It has a very typical Moroccan atmosphere, and everyone wants a tip for doing nothing. I don’t recommend it.

I travel a lot for work, and based on this last-minute trip to meet a friend, I’d recommend staying here. There’s good Wi-Fi in the rooms and around the hotel. My only real complaint was no USB sockets in the room, and I’d forgotten to pack mine. The location is perfect. I was on the 2nd Floor facing the front and didn’t notice any club noise. You can sit outside on the patio, look out at the ocean about 50M away, and enjoy the view. There’s a Bank ATM by the main door, a Western Union office, and a good shopping center five minutes away with the same stores you’d find across Europe. For those with no imagination, there’s a McDonald's across the street. The hotel was well appointed and clean, with great staff. The restaurant and café both have a great selection and high quality service and food. I’ve read some other comments, but I disagree with a few. I’m here in mid-January, and it’s 14C to 17C during the day. It’s cooler early and late, but a Hoodie sorts that out. The drive from the Airport is about 30 minutes. Book the transport on the hotel website. I hope to come back sooner rather than later.

The overall experience at Villa Blanca was good, but one of the security personnel treated us in a way that was unpleasant and seemed discriminatory. We felt deeply uncomfortable and unwelcome. Guests should be treated with respect and courtesy, and that wasn’t our experience. I hope management addresses this so future guests have a better stay.
