The house is beautiful and clean, the cooking was great, the food was high quality, and the service was excellent. The hosts and staff were kind and helpful throughout our week, including arranging car rental and delivery, recommendations, and activities. They also catered for allergies and other needs. We were 14 friends celebrating New Year, with a baby in the group, and it was a great experience overall. The main difficulty was that we had understood we were renting the whole house. Before we arrived, we hadn’t been told that we wouldn’t be able to use the kitchen or the other facilities we expected in a house. That took away some of the freedom we’d pictured for a surf holiday, especially with a large group, a baby, and plans that depended on the weather. We could order food for delivery the day before at set times, but planning meals for so many people that way was hard, and we couldn’t bring food or eat whenever we wanted. The food itself was fantastic, though. If you’re after a luxury bed and breakfast where meals and activities are arranged for you, or a place to relax by the pool, we’d highly recommend it. Having a house or apartment’s freedom and access to its facilities may be more challenging. Communication was sometimes difficult because nobody in our group spoke French and Nath and Lulu didn’t speak English. The rooms also felt a bit cold at night, there were no extra duvets or blankets available, and the included breakfast was a little sparse.
