Dar Ba Sidi and Spa

Breakfast was miserable. The room hadn’t been cleaned properly, the sheets were stained, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and the shower was missing its glass door. Don’t stay here.

The pool was cloudy and dirty even early in the morning, and nobody from staff was there to look after the area. That fit the general sense of neglect. The rooms were in deplorable shape, with dirt, poor upkeep, cobwebs, insects, and even lizards inside. At the high prices, that was hard to justify. Breakfast was disgraceful, minus five stars from me: stale bread, dry pastries, bitter tea, and burnt balboula. A basic coffee cost an extra 35 DH. That would be embarrassing even at a budget hostel, let alone somewhere marketed as high-end. The prices had no relation to the service. They sell an image of peace, comfort, and luxury, but the reality was poor management and disregard for guests. My stay was a disaster, with a lack of professionalism and service far below basic expectations. If Morocco hopes to host the 2030 World Cup, it’s concerning that places like this are still operating in tourism. Poor standards and disrespect for guests damage the country’s international image. I won’t return or recommend it. I paid for quality and got neglect.

The bungalows are quite a distance from reception, but staff were willing to carry our suitcases, which was a nice touch. The bus ride to the hotel was quite an experience. We arrived at night, so we only saw the route properly in the morning. Our rooms weren’t ready, and there were problems with the toilet and shower drain. They were spacious, but seemed to have seen better days. We also found underwear from previous guests in the bed. Since we got there late at night, staff couldn’t resolve it, but our tour guide helped. In the morning, management had to serve breakfast because the staff didn’t arrive for their shift on time. The food selection was average. One night was manageable, but for a longer visit I’d look for a hotel closer to the city.

The building looks very old, and the towers and bedding were dirty. The swimming pool was okay, but dinner from the buffet was horrible. I wouldn’t recommend it.
