Dar Rafik

We stayed two nights at Dar Rafik, just outside the medina, so we could walk to everything. The room was very spacious and the roof terrace had a great view over the village. Our hosts did all they could to make the stay pleasant.

Breakfast was good, but the rest of the stay felt very basic. The room was freezing, and the heater barely helped. When we asked for assistance, we were told nothing could be done. The bathroom was extremely cramped, and there was only one towel. Getting another took 12 hours because staff weren't around regularly. The location is good, though getting your luggage up the very narrow stairs without help is part of the deal.

We’d happily stay here again. The host was genuinely warm and helpful, and breakfast on the terrace was a lovely extra, though the coffee could be better. It’s a small, newly renovated house right by the old town, easy to reach by car. The rooms are thoughtfully designed, clean, and full of character.

The rooftop breakfast was generous and lovely, and the welcome at reception felt warm. Dar Rafik is well placed for the markets, restaurants, and nearby little hikes. We booked two rooms for November, and both were beautiful and very clean, with huge, firm but comfortable beds, nice pillows, and lovely new duvet covers. The only nuisance was the roosters on the neighboring rooftop.
