Dar Swiar

The manager was the most helpful host I met in Morocco. He bought transport tickets when we asked and gave us tips on food and attractions. The place is really amazing, right in the old town and within walking distance of the square. I’d highly recommend staying here.

This was my third stay in Chefchaouen, and easily the best. The price was excellent, the room was clean, cool, and comfortable, and I was grateful for the AC after learning the hard way that it isn’t standard even at mid-range places. It’s about a five-minute walk to the square, where there are plenty of breakfast options, so there’s no need for breakfast at the property. Saad deserves all the praise in the reviews: incredibly helpful, kind, patient, hospitable, and welcoming. He’d move mountains for you, then refuse a tip. I had to insist he take mine. I hope his guests appreciate how generous he is. If I return to Chefchaouen, I know where I’m staying. Thanks again, Saad :)

The host is very friendly, and the apartment is spacious compared with a hotel room, with a clean, well-kept bathroom. It’s in the medina, near the parking garage next to hotel Madrid. Just note that this is an apartment, so they don’t serve breakfast or dinner.

A lovely host and terrace, in a beautiful Dar right in the medina. The building and room were even nicer in person than the online pictures suggested. Great value, very clean, and a good choice for a short stay in Chefchaouen.
