We really enjoyed the hospitality and the food at Kasbah Illy. Dinner was chicken tagine, followed by a classic Moroccan breakfast. The owner was helpful with advice for the rest of our journey, and upgraded our room from “standard” to “superior” as a goodwill gesture. We paid around 1200 dh for one night and dinner. We were there during cold weather and extremely heavy rain on our road trip across Morocco, and there seemed to be only one other occupied room. The building and our room were very cold, even with the air conditioning set to the maximum temperature of 30’. We had to switch it off overnight because of its noise and light. The high ceilings and vintage windows would usually be a plus, but in those conditions they made things harder. We also missed having a kettle and hair dryer, though they did bring us hot water in a thermos.

The ladies who served dinner and breakfast were incredibly kind and gentle, and we really appreciated their hospitality. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the rooms at Illy Kasbah were spacious, clean, and well kept. Even so, the price felt far too high for what we got. The stay and the dinner and breakfast didn’t seem to match the cost, so the value felt unbalanced. We enjoyed being there, but probably wouldn’t return because of the price.

We got in late, then enjoyed a nice breakfast the next morning and coffee in the garden with an amazing view. Beautiful location and super friendly staff.

The grounds, pool, and location were stunning, and the food was really good. They looked after us as two dusty motorcyclists and charged a fair price. One of us arrived ill, and they offered to call the local doctor. The cook spoke little English, so we had to manage a bit as best we could. Thank you.
