Hotel La Place

The beach view from the room was good, and the toilet and shower were nice. Wi-Fi was good for both downloads and uploads. The location was okay for the beach, and the upstairs cafe had an okay view, though they put a menu in front of you even if you're a hotel guest. The staff didn't seem to know much about tourists who just want to stay and relax. I pay in cash only. It was far too noisy. Music from clubs and cafes in the supposedly quiet street went on until midnight every night, and without carpet we could hear neighbours moving around and talking on the phone in adjoining rooms. There was loud maintenance work, and one day a staff member walked straight into my room without knocking. It was laughable, like they were children. Service was very bad, and the insistence that a staff member accompany the two of us as a mental passenger was annoying. I'm a solo traveller and want to make my own choices. There were no vegetarian dinner options. Breakfast had a big selection, mostly pastries, but what I tried wasn't very fresh. The TV only had Arabic satellite channels. It might have rated three stars, but the experience was overpriced.
