Berber Hostel

We only managed one night here, and that really wasn’t enough. It’s a relaxing place with a nice atmosphere, about five minutes from the beach, and the staff made us feel very welcome. Everything was clean, and being able to cook in the kitchen and unwind made it feel like home. I’d definitely recommend it.

The photos didn’t match the actual conditions, and I found this hostel seriously overrated. I ended up with lots of painful, itchy bites that swelled. The host said they were mosquito bites, not bed bugs. When I asked in the morning to move beds, I was told they were all occupied. I asked for clean sheets instead, but the owner offered mosquito repellent. Later that day my condition was getting worse, so I asked again about changing the bedding. The owner seemed visibly annoyed and dismissive, asking why this was only happening to me and no one else. He told me to change the bed myself, and I felt like a nuisance all day. Please avoid this place. It’s not worth the trouble.

The rooftop terrace was a highlight, a great place to relax with a view. My room was clean and comfortable, and the location made it easy to explore the city. The staff went out of their way to welcome me and offered helpful ideas for things to see and do nearby. Berber Hostel has a warm, authentic feel, with lovely decor that reflects the local culture. I’d highly recommend it for a friendly, distinctive stay.

Two nights flew by, and I wish I’d stayed longer. I met some lovely people and had great conversations. The host, surf (hope I’ve got the spelling right ^^), was about as nice and laid-back as anyone could be. Six stars from me! Enjoy ;)
