My dear client Jasper, I’m sorry, but since I started working in this house, I’ve had the best clients ever, except you. If you want a luxury room at a cheap price, I can’t help with that. I’d advise you to pay more and stay somewhere else, if you can find luxury at that price. Luxury and price are two different things. To explain more about this house, all the photos you took were in the morning, during cleaning time. The photos of your room were taken in the morning when you woke up. It was shameful to leave a room like that. The floor wasn’t dirty; it’s simply an old floor, 250 years old. Finally, this is our family house, where we share our life with other tourists. I could say much more, my dear client Jasper. Good luck travelling cheaply while looking for luxury rooms.

For the price, this was the best place I stayed during my two weeks in Morocco. I loved the peaceful inner courtyard, and the whole place is spotless and full of thoughtful details. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the sheets and towels were fresh and clean. There’s a well-equipped kitchen guests can use, and Dar44 is perfectly situated in the heart of the beautiful Medina. The only bad part was leaving after just three days. Highly recommended.

The location is just right, inside the Medina but in a peaceful area. The owner welcomed us with delicious tea, and both the owner and staff were incredibly attentive and friendly. Everything was super clean and new, with soft towels and sheets, a fully equipped kitchen, and comfortable shared spaces. Wi-Fi is available.

We felt right at home in the cozy riad and will definitely come back someday. You shouldn’t expect luxury accommodation at this price, but you get more than you’d expect: genuine hospitality. Azzedin treated us like friends instead of guests and let us see a little of his life and culture. We had a wonderful time in Essaouira.
