Essaouira Wind Palace

The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for us, and the rooms were clean and tidy, just right for what we needed. We loved starting each day with breakfast on the rooftop terrace. The riad is beautiful and perfectly placed in the medina, among the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of Essaouira. We’d definitely recommend it and will be back.

It’s a really good spot for staying inside the Medina, close to the local markets and shops. The hotel was quiet, and reception was kind and explained a few places to see. Just a heads-up, someone rang the bell outside at 3 am, and nobody opened the door until someone eventually went downstairs.

The location is great and the room was clean, but it was very dark and the shower was broken. Some staff were rude and unhelpful. Soundproofing is really poor: when tourists checked out before 6 am, talking, laughing, and walking loudly, we couldn’t sleep. With everything included, the price felt too high.

It’s budget friendly, but I think you can find somewhere better for the same price. The receptionist wasn’t professional. The place was very quiet, which was both good and bad, and the sheets felt damp, maybe because of humidity. The shower kept switching between cold and hot and didn’t work properly. You can hear someone showering as if they’re in your room, and if you want to talk, you have to whisper.
