The team at Riad les Matins Bleus fit me in despite my very last-minute booking, and even arranged my transfer back to Marrakech. I stayed for two nights in September 2025 and had a very good experience. My room was spacious and clean, and I’d happily return and recommend the Riad. Samir and his wife Meriem own the place. Samir grew up in this house, so it was especially nice to support a local family business working to preserve their family home. He also speaks German and Spanish. One small breakfast suggestion: as others have said, it would be nice to have at least one savory option for people who don’t eat sweet breakfasts. Thank you, dear team, and see you again soon, inshallah!

The host was spectacular and made us feel at home. He gave us great suggestions for places to eat and things to do, and breakfast was great. The Riad itself is beautiful.

I stayed for one night, and the breakfast was very limited. The price wasn’t worth it: I was charged more than the amount I’d agreed to in my Booking.com reservation. There’s also a 5% surcharge for card payments. I paid cash and was still charged more than the booking price.

This family-run riad has decades of experience and a great spot in the heart of Essaouira’s Medina, with all the main attractions an easy walk away. Don’t miss sunset at Moulay Hassan Square, it’s unforgettable!

The rooms have a lovely Moroccan feel, and the Riad is in the heart of the Medina, a good base for exploring Essaouira. We travelled as a family and got three of the rooms at the tip. They were perfect, though I wish the bathrooms had soap and shampoo, since we no longer pack those when flying because of liquid restrictions. Breakfast was nice, but eggs would have been a welcome addition. All in all, a good place to stay.
