Riad Malaïka

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, and both meals impressed us: delicious breakfasts and a very high-standard dinner. We stayed three days in February at Riad Malaika. Walking through the door, I immediately felt like I was in heaven. It’s an old house that’s been restored and decorated with great taste.

The team made our week at Riad Malaika feel like a home from home, and we had a lovely stay. The evening meal we booked there was delicious, while the breakfasts were the best we had in Morocco. I’d gladly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Essaouira medina. If we return to the area, which seems very likely, I’ll look for a room here first.

The Riad is really, really pretty, and the room was comfortable. Abdullah, the manager, and the rest of the team took great care of us. We also had a very delicious breakfast. I’d stay here again if I return to Essaouira.

We were pleasantly surprised by breakfast: there was a changing selection of fresh food each day, along with freshly squeezed orange juice. The staff were kind, very helpful, and shared local tips without pushing anything. They spoke English and French fluently, so communication was easy. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and stylishly decorated. The Riad itself is beautifully designed in the heart of the Medina, with a calm atmosphere. The furnished rooftop is a quiet place to step away from the bustle, especially after visiting Morocco’s larger cities. This is definitely somewhere I’d return to, and I recommend it.
