The hosts are amazing, and the place is safe, spotless, comfortable, and friendly to children. You'll get fresh towels each day and white blankets, with European standards of provision. Breakfast is good every morning. For me, this is the best riad in Essaouira. Book it if you're staying there.

Right in the middle of the medina, so you can step through the doorway and be straight into the old town. The room was clean, comfortable, and looked good. The kind French couple running the Riad made us what was probably the best breakfast ever.

I was given a single room with a double bed, decorated with lovely Moroccan details, from the Tadelakt walls to the vintage brass sink and taps. The French couple who run Riad Thaïs even got up at 6am to see me off the next morning, which made me feel so guilty! If I come back to Astapor and need a place in Essaouira, I'd choose Thaïs again.
