The next morning, we came down at 08:00 as arranged to find the reception empty and all the lights off. Another couple arrived, trying to check out and leave early, but there was still no one around. The original lady eventually came down at 08:40 and seemed unhappy. She sorted out the other guests. We only wanted a hot drink because she hadn't even started breakfast, and she didn't speak to us during all that time or when we paid our bill. We got no receipt. She was NOT happy that morning. When we first arrived, the lady who met us was very pleasant. She asked whether we wanted breakfast and told us it was served downstairs where we came in. We would not recommend this accommodation, especially after the NOT nice and untrue comments the owner posted on another website.

The rooms were spotless, the beds were comfortable, and the location was perfect. The staff were so kind and helpful!

Hassan, the owner, was the real gem here. He's one of the kindest, most generous and wonderful hosts I've met, and did everything he could to make our stay in Essaouira exceptional. Thank you, Hassan, for making it special. The riad is well situated, and the rooms are beautiful, welcoming, clean and cozy. The beds are the comfiest you'll find, and every detail feels thoughtfully done. We were lucky to stay here.

Hassan, the owner, knows the area inside out and is full of useful information. He serves a great breakfast and hosts a big couscous dinner on Fridays. The room was clean and well lit, with a very comfortable bed, and I was so glad I stayed. The common area is a lovely place to relax.
