Riad Anata

Breakfast on the terrace was a lovely way to begin each day, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The host and staff also made us feel cared for, whether we needed directions, suggestions, or just a friendly chat. Riad Anata felt like a hidden spot in the medina, and the restored building has beautiful traditional Moroccan details and a calm atmosphere that made us slow down. The rooftop sunset over Fes was a highlight. It was one of our favorite parts of the trip. For authenticity, comfort, and warm hospitality, we'd happily return. @Life2wander!

The cooking class was a real highlight of our four nights at Riad Anata. We shopped for dinner at the market, learned how to prepare it, took home the recipes, and finished with a lovely meal. She also took some fun photos while we were there. The staff were welcoming, and our rooms were clean and beautiful. One issue: we were told someone would always open the main door, but my friend and I got back around 11:30pm on the first night and were locked out. Another couple staying there heard us knocking and let us in. I'd suggest asking about a curfew or getting a key to the front door. Apart from that, we had a great stay.

I almost didn't want to leave the riad to see the city because Valeria has made the space so inviting and thoughtfully designed. She was quick to respond and made everything feel personal and easy. The breakfast was beautifully laid out, with lots of tasty choices. Idris made check-in fast and painless, and I loved chatting with him, especially about Fez's history. Mohammed was kind and attentive too, and Hussaniya's cakes were some of the best I've had. I was hoping to take the cooking class but ran out of time, so that's one reason I'd like to return. Maybe I'll get Hussaniya's cake recipes next time. Thank you to Valeria and the whole team.

Samira's dinner was the best meal we had in Morocco, and I'm still thinking about it. The managers also did everything they could to make us comfortable. We booked a medina tour through the riad, which was affordable and helped us see the main sights without worrying about checking our phones or getting lost. We spent two nights at Riad Anata, and it was the highlight of our time in Fez. The rooms were stylish and comfortable, the courtyard was huge and open, and there were city views from the rooftop. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
