Riad Verus - Hostel - Adults Only

A sociable, easygoing hostel with really friendly staff. Naseem went out of his way to help and was endlessly kind. The breakfast he provided was generous and tasty, nearly enough to keep me going until dinner. It was reasonably priced too: 420 dirhams (£34) for three nights, breakfast included. Remember to bring cash, as they only accept it. The tours they offer seem marked up, though that appears to be common throughout Morocco.

The rooftop was a highlight, comfortable and social, with amazing views across the city. The beds were really comfy, and the hostel itself is beautiful. We had a lovely three-night stay. Nassim is the gift that keeps on giving. He kept the mint tea and laughs coming, and made us feel at home straight away. Thanks to him. We hope to visit again.

The terrace has a great view, and the rooms are clean with very little street noise. The location is handy too, about five minutes from the petit taxi stop, an ATM, and the start of the medina. At check-in, I got a genuinely helpful rundown of things to do in Fes, with no particular effort to sell me anything. The staff are incredibly friendly, kind, and helpful. Breakfast runs from 9.30-11, which is a bit late, but it's the biggest hostel breakfast I've ever seen. I'm sure the staff would be glad to handle extra requests.

Nassim deserves a special mention. We work remotely while traveling, and without us having to ask repeatedly, he would quietly switch off music in particular rooms so we could focus. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare. He was around all day, ready to help with anything, big or small, and made our stay at least 10 times better. Riad Verus was a wonderful place to stay. The relaxed atmosphere made it easy to slow down, and the staff were among the most accommodating people we've met on our travels.
