The room was a little damp, and the shower temperature kept swinging from cold to scalding hot, which felt dangerous. I do appreciate how proactively the service staff tried to sort out the room problems. But for what we paid, I expected a much better stay. At first, the receptionist was friendly, so we tipped him generously. Later, when we asked where to get bottled water, he said the hotel had some but didn’t tell us the price. As we were leaving, he charged us an outrageous 25 Dh per bottle, 75 Dh for three. Then he slammed the door behind us, which was incredibly rude and left us with a terrible impression.

The room felt damp, and rainwater leaked in near the window. We also had no hot water, though the staff made a real effort to fix it. Hotel bottled water was 25 dirhams and we weren’t told the price beforehand, while it costs about 5 in supermarkets. There was no water provided in the room. Breakfast was average, and with so few staff, food often took around 20 minutes to be replenished. For this price, you can find better places to stay.

The property is attractive and well placed in the Fes medina, and it has plenty of potential. But during our Morocco tour, this was the only riad that didn’t provide bottled water. Seven of the twelve people in our group developed traveler’s diarrhea after our evening meal. The rooms had been renovated, but they were dirty and dated. With so many riads in the Fes medina, I’d pass on this one.

Really lovely riad. The rooms were comfortable, and the food was very good, proper Moroccan cooking.

The warm, attentive staff and delicious breakfasts made our stay especially lovely. This place won us over, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Its location made it easy to explore, and the neighborhood felt safe and friendly. When we arrived, the owner’s son even offered us his parking spot. The riad feels full of the family’s affection and warmth, and we felt like part of the family. Highly recommend it.
