The photos don’t capture how lovely Riad of Dreams is. Yasmine and Alex have made a cozy, carefully furnished retreat in the medina, with a lovely team. Larger palaces with spas may look grand, but this place felt much more comfortable and welcoming to us. After the busy medina, it was such a relief to come back and unwind with mint tea or a glass of wine. Being near a square was also a real plus, since the open space felt welcome after a few days among the narrow streets. We chose one of the larger rooms, and it became a place to relax in its own right. We’d seen the smaller rooms too, and they looked lovely, but the upgrade felt worthwhile for a special trip. The hotel arranged a car for our transfers, which made a nice start and finish to the stay. We also enjoyed the Moroccan wine in the evenings. We usually prefer group tours, but the ones we saw in the medina looked overwhelming, and we ended up taking a private tour. I’d trust Yasmine and Alex’s recommendation and book through the hotel. We didn’t manage to use the restaurant, which serves breakfast and dinner, because dinner needed advance booking and our schedule ran late. A few nights we were hungry, too tired to go back out, and couldn’t get any of the four delivery apps I tried to work. We should’ve bought some snacks on the first day.

Our first time staying in a riad couldn’t have gone better. The place is beautiful, and everything seemed thoughtfully chosen. Yasmine and Alex welcomed us warmly and looked after us throughout. We had delicious breakfasts and dinners, and spent evenings playing cards on the rooftop. They also sorted out some great excursions for us, so everything felt easy. We’re very grateful for how well they cared for us. A magical stay.

The rooftop was a highlight, with a lovely view, and our room had everything we needed. Breakfast was very nice too. It was an easy enough place to find, and the riad was lovely with really good hospitality. We’d happily come back.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Riad Le Calife. The team treated us well throughout, arranged a full-day Medina tour, and even prepared an early breakfast for our departure. Dinner on the rooftop was terrific, and we also liked sitting up there at sunset. It was nice to have wine with the meal. There were a couple of drawbacks: our room smelled musty, with an unpleasant sewer odor for a short time each morning. The guide the riad introduced was mostly excellent, but spent an unnecessary hour at the end of the day taking us to sales stops, including a rug “factory” and gift shops.

We tried the dinner here and really enjoyed it. Alex and his wife were welcoming, shared a little of the riad’s history, and gave us tips for the city. It’s a quiet, elegant place close to the entrance of the Fez Medina, with lovely city views from the restaurant and rooftop.
