Diagonal Hotel

Lovely, respectful staff, and a very good new hotel. I'll come back next time I'm in Tangier for business.

The hotel was brand new and generally nice, but the room we had for three people, with the three single beds we requested, had a couple of problems. The shower was completely exposed, and even the toilet area had slightly transparent glass. I didn't expect that, and nobody should have to expose their private parts to anyone, whoever they are. Whoever designed it showed no respect or shame.

The room had open bathrooms with no doors or shower curtains, and the toilet doors wouldn't shut. The basin mirror was placed so badly that someone in the corner of the room could see the person in the shower. The bathroom was by the entrance too, so even housekeeping could come in and see someone showering. The toilet doors barely count as doors, and the smell can fill the room. Who thought this was a good idea? Why take family bookings without proper bathroom doors? If the setup is going to stay this way, the hotel should be listed as adults only or tell guests when they book. Families and work colleagues sharing a room should avoid it. They also charged 150DR for a kids bed, which wasn't mentioned when the booking was accepted or in the rates shown on the app. Apparently it's in the terms and conditions. Really? We're tourists and seem to get overcharged for everything. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!! NOT FOR FAMILIES WiTH KIDS!!!

The rooftop pool was a great way to unwind, and I especially enjoyed dinner. Staff were kind and professional, from reception through to the restaurant. Diagonal Hôtel is clean, stylish and super convenient, just a minute from Tangier Freezone. I'll definitely be back!
