Gite Tihliwine

On my bike ride through town, I stopped here after running out of water in the very hot sun. A really kind couple offered me water and help, and even spoke to me in English. One of them had a baby strapped to her back. They were so welcoming and kind.

The tagine was fantastic, and the food overall was great. The mountain gite is decent, though pretty no-frills. Showers were cold, and the bathrooms could be nicer.

The view across the valley and villages was breathtaking, and after a day hiking, the stay felt relaxing. The accommodation itself was basic, with foam mattresses. Bathroom hygiene could be better: the showers were flooded, though usable, and neither the men’s nor women’s toilet doors closed properly. Some rooms also lacked ventilated windows.

The kitchen was awful, and the cottages were unhygienic. The bathroom had dirty water pooling around our feet, and both the toilet and drain were clogged. The cottages are also close to the mosque, so the call to prayer was too loud. That proximity was absolutely unpleasant. Avoid them.
