Razane Hôtel

The food was good, and the staff were really friendly. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable, so we were happy with our stay.

I’ve stayed at Razane Hotel several times since last December and would go back. It’s clean, the food is very nice, and the staff are friendly and happy to help. The Hotel’s transfer to and from Rabat airport has been very convenient for me. If you prefer a personal touch and a quieter place than the big hotels, I recommend it. Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Even after paying in advance, I couldn’t be sure I’d keep access to my room. I had a serious problem with Aicha at the front desk and her manager Imane, and it took housekeeping staff stepping in before I could get into my room again. They ultimately let me in for a few hours so I could sort my luggage and get ready for my flight, but I lost an hour arguing while already short on time. The staff had taken my luggage out of the room without my permission, which added to the stress. A couple of days before checkout, I asked Aicha whether I’d get a refund if I ended the stay early. She said no, and said her manager had confirmed that. I accepted the policy and told her more than once, in different ways, not to cancel my room. I was familiar with the difficulty we sometimes had communicating in English, so I wanted to be clear. The next day I had to travel to another city for a day. I took a small bag but left my big bag in the room, and kept the key card because I planned to come back. Before I returned, Aicha messaged that I’d forgotten my bag. I explained that I hadn’t checked out and had left it there on purpose. She said the room was automatically canceled because I hadn’t slept at the hotel. I asked her to keep my luggage in the room and decided to speak in person a couple of hours later. When I got back, I was told the room had been canceled and given to someone else, even though I had already paid for that day and the next. Aicha refused to restore my card or let me into my own room. She said that asking about cancellation and leaving with some of my luggage counted as an automatic cancellation, and that Imane had agreed. I was told I’d have to pay again to get the room back, even though I needed it only until evening to prepare for my flight and had paid for an extra day for that reason. They wouldn’t let me in even for an hour. Imane was only available by phone and wouldn’t help; both insisted I had to pay again. The housekeeping ladies helped make the case for me and got me access for a few hours. If you do stay here, I’d avoid dealing with Aicha or Imane. Keep your luggage locked at all times.

Room 52 was very clean and had a balcony. The staff were kind, and I loved the delicious breakfast and amazing tagine at dinner. It was a great experience, and I’m sure I’ll be back.
