Riad Alboraq

We had a great three-night stay, and as two women in our 30s visiting Morocco from the US for the first time, we felt comfortable and safe, even walking around at night. The riad is in a very local area beyond the tourist zone, which we loved. Most places in central Marrakech are walkable if you don't mind 20-30 minutes; otherwise, taxis are quick and cost about 15€. Ashraf had a ride waiting at the airport, which made arriving much less stressful. Staff were friendly and helpful, spoke good English, and replied quickly on WhatsApp. Breakfast was great. The lobby is gorgeous, the beds and bedding were comfortable, and the shower had strong pressure and very hot water, welcome after cold, rainy days. It was around 30 to 50°F while we were there, so the rooms and lobby felt cold, as did everywhere else in Marrakech. They provided space heaters for the rooms, which kept us warm, and I noticed mini split AC units in the bedrooms. I saw negative reviews about ventilation, but we were comfortable with the heaters. One thing to know: dinner at the riad restaurant needs to be reserved ahead, so we couldn't eat there our first night. Ashraf suggested Zouhal Food up the street, which was great. My only suggestion is to leave bottled water in the rooms each day.
