Villa Gramtahouse Hotel

Breakfast was prepared each morning and was delicious, and the villa was spotless, beautifully kept, and had a warm, friendly atmosphere. The owner and staff welcomed me warmly from the moment I arrived. They took great care of me, handling every request quickly and kindly, without making anything feel like a bother. Their attentiveness made the stay relaxing and enjoyable. I had a wonderful experience I won’t forget, and I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone wanting a well cared for, relaxing getaway.

The staff member was very kind, but the facilities were poor and the breakfast even worse. I won’t return or recommend this place. The host charged €5 per person in city tax, which wasn’t mentioned in the listing, and gave me no receipt. He said this was what the city required. In my understanding, these taxes are usually based on the hotel’s classification by the Ministry of Tourism, and given the poor condition of the place I believe it should be around €2 per person at most. Without a receipt, I doubt the money will actually be declared. I plan to complain to the tourist police because I believe the host isn’t reporting the tax properly. I also don’t understand the number of positive reviews and wonder if they’re even real. I didn’t look at reviews beforehand, and it turned out to be a very, very bad experience.

We left after one day and cancelled the rest of our stay. They gave us the wrong room, and it was dirty and cold. We couldn’t shut the windows, and it was 5 degrees inside. My companions and I slept in five layers of clothing and two blankets each. There was no breakfast or warm water, so we couldn’t eat or shower before leaving. The outside doors were locked too, so we couldn’t leave when we wanted. It felt like a prison. The owner wasn’t there and later texted us privately, trying to lower the price after we cancelled. Easily the worst place I’ve stayed. 1/5, do not recommend.

We got stranded after our flight was cancelled, so having a nice room near the airport to get us through was a relief. The staff were super helpful. Breakfast was a simple, classic Moroccan one. Kittens came to visit, which I wasn’t keen on because of my allergies. Norman on site is really helpful.
