The room itself was clean, spacious, and there were no issues with the hotel. Breakfast, though, was worthless. At checkout, staff said I still owed $67 in taxes. I explained that I'd paid 100 US dollars on arrival for the extra person and the taxes. It took about 20 minutes to sort out. I didn't appreciate the first attendant leaving no note or receipt, then having to deal with an accusation of nonpayment at 3am.

The lobby looked fancy, but the room was a letdown and didn't deserve even 2 stars. We were there for two nights with an Insight tour. The room was a decent size, but the old, shabby linens and small uncomfortable pillows made it hard to settle in. The shower enclosure had a gap by the tub, so the floor flooded every time we showered. It was a very warm day, and our west-facing second-floor room got hot. The AC was off, so opening the balcony door meant putting up with heavy traffic noise from the nearby street.

The first impression was a nice foyer, but the rest didn't match the advertised five stars. We checked in at 4pm, an hour after the stated 3pm time, and still had to wait another half hour for our room. We went in February, when it was 29 degrees, but the air conditioning wasn't on for the season. We were told to open the sliding doors, and the room felt like a sauna. We had booked three nights and left after one. The toilet brush was so filthy that using it made me physically sick, and I couldn't face breakfast afterward. We also had to pay to use the pool. At dinner, my burger was raw and my wife's pizza was raw too.

We had a great stay here. The rooms were large and clean, with working air conditioning, a big TV with international channels, and a nice spacious bathroom. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the pool is great. Breakfast had a huge range of choices and was good. I'd happily stay here again.
