Dar 73

I’d come back in a heartbeat. I found the place by chance and was welcomed warmly when I knocked, even though my flight had landed just after 6AM. They served me breakfast before checking me in, with real butter, local honey, and delicious jam. The rooms were clean, the staff friendly, and the service wonderful.

After days among the busy souks, museums, and local artisan shops, coming back to Dar 73 felt like a haven. As a designer, spending a week in such a thoughtfully designed place did wonders for the soul. The bedrooms and shared spaces were luxurious, made to delight the spirit and relax the senses. The staff treated us like family, with warm Moroccan friendliness and attentive service. Breakfast was superb and catered to our health needs, the cooking was excellent, and the spa treatment was mesmerizing. One morning a bubbling fountain serenaded us as we rested in the salon, while oriental music carried the mind to distant sand dunes and sunset. The pool was refreshing, the sunsets priceless, and the summer breeze on the terrace lovely. We left with the hosts’ warm welcome, smiles, kindness, and happiness in our hearts. Marrakech lives in the hearts of its citizens, and we were lucky to have such wonderful hosts. A beautiful, relaxing place with Moroccan hospitality at its best.

The square and all its food places are just a few minutes away, and breakfast was a highlight. It was always top tier, usually with yogurt, honey, fruit, pancakes, coffee, and juice, served in a nice shared dining room. My husband and I stayed for five days in January and had a wonderful time. As others have mentioned, taxis can’t reach the Riad, but it’s only a two-minute walk from the drop-off. The staff spoke French and English, were exceptionally helpful, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. They even walked us into town when we weren’t sure where to go. The rooms were comfortable and smelled lovely. 10/10, I couldn’t recommend it enough. ❤️

The staff and Isabelle were so friendly and helpful. She gave us great dinner suggestions and even helped arrange last-minute reservations. She was patient when I tried speaking my broken French, and the staff understood and spoke English well. We originally booked two nights at Dar 73, but after a bad experience with a tour driver unaffiliated with the riad, we came back to Marrakech early and added a night. Isabelle, the owner, kindly came out to find us. Our taxi left us a few minutes from the door, but the walk felt safe for two young women on our own. The synagogue opposite and a group of women nearby helped point us to the riad, and their presence made us feel safe even when coming back late. Our junior suite, Tizi n'Taaddate, was beautifully decorated. Its high ceiling made it feel roomy and luxurious, and we fell asleep quickly every night in the comfortable bed. The toilet was partitioned off, but there wasn’t much privacy from a travel companion after showering, so it seems better suited to a couple or close friends. Breakfast was light, healthy, and varied across the mornings. We appreciated them swapping the crepe for eggs one day. I also enjoyed the hammam and massage in the nicely decorated private rooms near the roof terrace. The staff were attentive. The massage was on the light side, which was fine since I needed to relax. The rooftop terrace has cacti and other interesting plants. I enjoyed the small pool on a hot afternoon, and the place felt tranquil with few guests around. I spent two hours there without seeing anyone else. We had a perfect stay at this riad in central Marrakech and would happily return. It’s a luxurious stay at a very good price in the Medina.
