Dar Le Monde

The room I’d reserved wasn’t available when I arrived, despite booking and paying well in advance. After waiting hours, I was moved to an economy room with limited facilities, a hairdryer that didn’t work, and a power socket out of order. Booking.com had unexpectedly cancelled the booking, so I had to pay the property directly, and the amount felt excessive for what I received. They gave me a paper invoice rather than the electronic format most modern establishments use. This poor booking management cost me about five hours of vacation time. The location was good, the hosts were friendly at first, and the riad had a lovely terrace and a welcoming atmosphere. They offered tea on arrival, and I appreciated the hospitality and cooking. But communication with the owner turned unprofessional on my last day. When I raised a valid concern, I was accused of being impatient, and I was disappointed with how the issue was initially handled. The stay was satisfactory in some ways, but ultimately disappointing. I’d confirm the room and price directly before arriving. This booking system issue seemed to affect many European guests, and I saw one gentleman walk out during my checkout. I would have left a better review if I hadn’t been accused of being impatient.

We spent a week here and absolutely loved it. It felt like staying with family, with everyone being so kind and accommodating, answering our questions and sharing wonderful recommendations. We also took a private cooking class together and learned in loads of detail how to make Moroccan food. The food was great, and the location was perfect, close to everything but still quiet and not too busy. The beautiful terrace was lovely for breakfast or just relaxing with tea. The location made it easy to get here from the airport and explore the souk area on foot. Our room was cosy, and the Riad had a beautiful terrace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I recommend the breakfast, it was really tasty.
