Dar Zemrane

Mohamed’s hospitality really touched us. He treated us wonderfully, and his tea was out of this world. The rooms were clean, the Wi-Fi worked well, and I thought the location was perfect. This was the nicest riad we visited on our trip to Marrakech, and I’d highly recommend it.

I was exhausted by the end of it, and because of that lady’s behavior I’ll avoid this hotel on a future visit to Marrakech. At first, there was no taxi to collect us from the airport. We found a lovely private driver, who called the hotel and was told there was no taxi booking under my name, even though I’d received confirmation on the day I booked the room. The lady hung up. When he called again, she said I hadn’t confirmed the taxi. She didn’t offer to arrange another one for us four guests, and just ended the call. Once we arrived, I found she couldn’t speak English. I tried using my phone to communicate, but she didn’t make the same effort. She kept raising her voice, speaking French with only a few English words. The young man on night duty and the lady who managed during the day were both very rude. She was arrogant, unpleasant, and unhelpful. In the end she asked me in English, “Do I have a problem?” My experience was half and half, but I’d had enough and gave up.

The rooms are snug, but the service is brilliant. Mohamd was wonderful and so helpful. When we got lost, we called him and he came to rescue us.

Really nice hotel, and the staff were lovely.
